HOOKING UP ON SOCIAL MEDIA?

In this generation powered by the internet and social media, if you go to a job interview it's very likely that within an hour of leaving that office, you'll be “Googled” for. [It's no more called Searching. It's called Googling!]  Opinions don't matter. All of it is just a few clicks away! Whether we like it or not, times have indeed changed.

Let's say a women is interested in a man. During this social media boom, what's the first thing she'd do? She may grab her Mac and do a little investigative research. Well, wouldn't you? With loads of social media networks out there, we give away so much information every single day. And let's be honest, we're all glued to out computers far too much. Let's talk a little but about where you need to be if you're planning to hook up on social media.

P I N T E R E S T

Pinterest, we'd say is a completely useless social media tool when it comes to talking to women. "WOW! I love that car! I better go pin a picture of a box to my Pinterest board!" There are some women who like Pinterest and that's totally fine. Different sexes, different interests. But even those female Pinterest enthusiasts likely wouldn't want a dude who's into it.
In summation, is Pinterest important? Hell no.

G O O G L E +

We heard that if you ever actually see someone using Google Plus, a genie pops up and immediately grants you three wishes. That being said, if you do happen to stumble upon a lovely lady who's a big Google Plus user and you manage to remember your password, perhaps you could use it to your advantage. It'd be much likely if two people were stranded on a deserted island with one another. They have no other options. Sooner or later, these two are gonna get it on, right?

In summation, is Google Plus important? See "Pinterest."

Alarm goes... wake up... turn over... and there we are, searching for out phones to check what's going on! It's become a part of our regime. There's a network for almost anything we wish to do. While face-to-face is just as important as it ever was, now that we've got all kinds of new tools let us tighten bonds in between those in-person moments

Social media isn't something that we've got to do. It's something we need to be! Can you imagine an angel without the halo? That's the impact that networking has created around us. Whatever network you've signed up for and for whatever purpose it is, I guess you could fit in to one of the types of users.

T H E    F I R S T - T I M E R
Like almost all updates including theirs :p Posts responses to friends as updates :D

TIP: If you come across a user like this, relax! They'll learn it in a while.

Mr. R E G U L A R
Loves to give "likes" to updates rather than commenting much. Updates statuses or tweets twice or thrice a week.

TIP: These people don't bother much so just let them be!

E M O T I O N A L I S T
Too happy or too sad! Shares song lyrics to convey their emotional state. You can find posts of two extremes like "Yayyyyy I'm soooo happy! :)" or "Can it get any worse than this? :( "

TIP: Try ignoring these updates unless you're a great mind reader :p

A C T I V I S T
Voluntarily posts controversial comments on updates and pages. They talk to the point and have a very clear opinion about what they are saying.

TIP: Keep a distance if you don't want to get brainwashed! Sometimes, no pain in listening. Never know! You might end up being a supporter for the same cause. No guarantee thought!

P R O M O T E R
Helps promote own or employer's brand. Invites the entire network for events and promotions. Keeps the network engaged. Very active and posts frequently.

TIP: Make sure the brand is genuine and keep in the loop if you find it attractive. Don't get influenced by the wrong ads or posts targeted on money making!

A D D I C T
Updates almost 4 times every day! Changes profile pictures almost every other day! Checks feed every few minutes via all means possible. Waits for people to come online and POP! You've got a message!

TIP: Don't be an addict and try not to respond to these messages unless you have a long coffee break! You don't want to chat and then stay up late at office getting work done!

Hope we've given you a good picture of how people are on social media. Friendly advice, no matter which category you belong to, USE IT WISELY!

7 SIZZLING TIPS TO GEAR UP ON SOCIAL MEDIA

# 1  On - your - toes!

Be alert. Watch out! Accept the fact that there's millions of people on social media - good and bad.

Image

Know who to connect with and make sure you're doing the right thing. Superman is not gonna come to the rescue if you mess it up! :P

Image

See! :O I told you! You can never figure out who's who on social media :D
You must look INTO other people, as well as, AT them...

# 2  Time  it!

Don't keep flooding your wall with all possible updates or tweets. Yes, it's good to post but that doesn't mean you need to be sitting and staring at your device and wondering what to say next!

Image

Time your posts regularly. Make sure other people's notifications are not just about you.

Image

Oh come on! Let's grow up folks! People will not be happy by listening to you all the time. It's just going to make them lose the interest and run away :P Now tell me, do you really want that?

# 3  Connect!

That's the key to great social networking. P.A.R.T.I.C.I.P.A.T.E. That doesn't mean you can barge in and spam someone's wall just because they're on your friend list. NO! Know when to talk and make sure you let them talk in the conversation. Keep in touch with people you know.
Don't be a loner! Connections do matter

THE GAME CHANGER

Let's assume you have a business idea, a website, you've done a feasibility research and it's all fine so far. So, what next? You need to work on generating your leads, your prospective customers. But how?

How will you generate leads for your new Business?
Friends and Relatives - Word of Mouth
Advertising
PR
Social Media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google , etc.)
Thanks for Voting! Let's see what works best in this Internet generation.

We’re living at a time when attention is the new currency. With hundreds of TV channels, billions of Web sites, podcasts, radio shows and music downloads, our attention is more fragmented than ever before.  We literally live in a world where engagement with your consumer is very critical.
The one-to-many paradigm is gone and out-of-date. But, the question here is: Are we prepared to face it?

Let's say you are a steady follower of the traditional means. Yes, you can buy attention with advertising (Hmm... that might work! But no guarantee or money back!) or maybe, you can beg for attention from the media with PR (Nah Nah! Too boring!). Well then...you can bug people one at a time to get attention sales (Ever tried it? I suggest you better not!). Or you can earn attention by creating something interesting and valuable and then publishing it online for free (WOW!). I guess you would have got the answer for the poll now ;)
